Applications	2-Chloro-5-iodobenzoic Acid is a useful synthetic intermediate. It is used to prepare metabotropic glutamate receptor subtype-2 (mGluR2) positive allosteric modulator (PAM). It is also used to synthesize quinolone carboxylic acids as cell-permeable inhibitors of protein tyrosine phosphatase.
